The sample consisted of 43 cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. The research instruments included: (1) a structured preparation program consisting of information provision, motivation enhancement, and essential skills training delivered over a period of four weeks, radiotherapy knowledge test, and an anxiety assessment tool. The content validity of the instruments was established by experts. The reliability of the knowledge test was assessed using the Kuder-Richardson Formula 20 (KR-20), yielding a coefficient of 0.76. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests. The results revealed that:

Cancer patients showed a statistically significant increase in their average knowledge scores about radiotherapy, from before receiving the program ( = 13.79 SD. = 2.51) to after receiving the program
( = 18.98 SD.= .82), (t= 17.18 p<0.001)

Cancer patients showed a statistically significant decrease in their average anxiety scores, from a high level (t= 36.51 p<0.001). Before receiving the program, the scores were at a high level Before the program ( = 7.07 SD.= 1.26) to a low level after the program ( = 2.77 SD.= 1 .19).

It is therefore recommended that the preparation program be continuously implemented for cancer patients scheduled to undergo radiotherapy within the hospital's service area, in order to enhance patients’ knowledge, foster cooperation, reduce anxiety, and promote a better quality of life throughout the radiotherapy process.
Suneeporn Jaturaphuchaporn Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences Nakhon Phanom University 2025-07-25 2025-07-25 3 2 e4301 e4301 The Development of stroke patient referral model Khamcha-i Hospital, Mukdahan Province. https://he03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bcnnjournal/article/view/4240
This study utilized an action research design guided by the framework of Kemmis and McTaggart, which comprises four iterative phases: (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. The objectives of the study were to: (1) examine existing problems and compare stroke patient care outcomes before and after the implementation of a care and referral model; (2) evaluate the knowledge and skills of registered nurses in caring for and referring stroke patients at Kamcha-i Hospital, Mukdahan Province; and assess the satisfaction levels of patients’ family members regarding stroke care and referral services. The sample consisted of 32 registered nurses and 40 stroke patients, with 20 patients in the pre-intervention phase and 20 in the post-intervention phase. Research instruments included: a data collection form for stroke patient care retrieved from medical records, a knowledge and skills assessment tool for nurses involved in stroke care and referral, and a satisfaction survey for patients' relatives regarding the quality of stroke care and referral services. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, content analysis, and independent t-tests to compare outcomes before and after implementation.

The results were shown 1) developed stroke referral model consisted of screening stroke patients to assess urgency and providing pre-referral care based on urgency level. After implementation, the number of patients referred through the Stroke Fast Track system increased significantly (p < .05), and the average time spent on pre-referral care decreased significantly from 42.45 minutes to 27.75 minutes—a reduction of 14.75 minutes (p < .05)., 2) the nurses’ average knowledge and skills score in stroke care and referral was 82.87%, indicating an excellent level, and 3) The satisfaction level of patients’ relatives regarding stroke care and referral was rated as very high. It is recommended that all nursing departments and relevant healthcare organizations conduct annual training and refresher sessions on stroke care and referral protocols. Additionally, the effectiveness of the referral model should be reviewed and evaluated every three months to ensure continued quality improvement and patient safety.
Budsaba Sansuk Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences Nakhon Phanom University 2025-08-04 2025-08-04 3 2 e4240 e4240 The Effects of the empowerment program on HbA1C level of patients with type I diabetes mellitus at DM Clinic, Sakon Nakhon Hospital https://he03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bcnnjournal/article/view/4548
The quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design to evaluate the effect of an empowerment program on glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C) levels among patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The study was undertaken in response to the increasing number of patients at Sakon Nakhon Hospital whose HbA1C levels exceed recommended thresholds, thereby elevating the risk of complications and treatment costs. A total of 34 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus were enrolled. Research instruments comprised (1) the empowerment program and (2) data collection tools including a general information questionnaire and HbA1C laboratory results. Content validity of the instruments was confirmed with a validity index of 0.95. Reliability testing using Cronbach’s alpha yielded a coefficient of 0.91. Data were analyzed using paired t-test to compare pre- and post-intervention HbA1C levels.

The findings demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in HbA1C levels following intervention (t = 3.904, p < .01). The mean HbA1C level decreased from 11.12 (SD = 2.80) prior to the program to 9.94 (SD = 2.28). After program participation.

The results indicate that the empowerment program is effective in reducing HbA1C levels in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Continued implementation and expansion of the program to other diabetes populations within the hospital’s catchment area are recommended to strengthen glycemic control and improve long-term clinical outcomes.
Patsorn Karun Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences Nakhon Phanom University 2025-09-09 2025-09-09 3 2 e4548 e4548 The Effects of a Self-Efficacy Enhancement Program Combined with Social Support via the LINE Application on Self-Care Behaviors among Cervical Cancer Patients Receiving Radiotherapy at the National Cancer Institute https://he03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/bcnnjournal/article/view/4511
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a self-efficacy enhancement program combined with social support through the LINE application on self-care behaviors among cervical cancer patients receiving radiotherapy at the National Cancer Institute of Thailand. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 34 cervical cancer patients in stages II–III who underwent radiotherapy between December 16, 2024 and August 30, 2025. The intervention included a self-efficacy enhancement and social support program delivered via LINE. Data were collected using questionnaires with established content validity (IOC = 0.78) and reliability (α = 0.73). Descriptive statistics and Dependent t-tests were used for data analysis at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in self-efficacy scores after the intervention (p < 0.001). Social support scores also improved significantly (p < 0.005), and self-care behavior scores increased significantly (p < 0.001). Participants expressed high satisfaction with the program, with 92.5% satisfied with program content and participation, and 82.4% satisfied with overall benefits. These findings suggest that integrating self-efficacy enhancement with social support via a digital platform can effectively promote self-care behaviors, reduce potential treatment-related complications, and improve the quality of life among cervical cancer patients. This program has potential for implementation in radiotherapy services and could be expanded to other healthcare settings to strengthen patient self-management.
Nanthakarn Sa-nguankaew Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences Nakhon Phanom University 2025-11-12 2025-11-12 3 2 e4511 e4511
