Abstract

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a significant issue across all countries. Alcohol induced psychotic disorder (AIPD) can occur with acute intoxication, alcohol withdrawal, and chronic alcoholism. There was an increased risk of developing psychotic features, including hallucinations, delusion, and other symptoms that resemble those of schizophrenia but are merely relevant to alcohol drinking, in people with chronic alcohol dependence. AIPD is a chronic problem because patients with AIPD tend to increase their alcohol consumption again. This article reviews the literature to describe studies on AIPD and present nursing care for patients with AIPD to Case studies that have characteristics that are often encountered in nursing practice nursing personnel should increase public awareness about the problems associated with alcohol. It is incredibly important for the patient to receive the most appropriate nursing care. Moreover, HCWs should focus on educating and motivating patients with AIPD and their families to reduce alcohol consumption and stop drinking. The patients are harmless and secure, thereby reducing the likelihood of relapse and readmission.
