Supply Chain Management Model in Samutprakan Hospital : Analysis and Development

Abstract

          This analytical review aims to 1) study the situation of supply chain management for material procurement and inventory management 2) develop the supply chain process using the Supply Chain Operating Reference (SCOR) model and 3) evaluate the supply chain process using the SCOR model for material procurement and inventory management. The process of planning, procuring of materials, managing of inventory and delivering were evaluated for improving the services delivered to all patients and recipients.

          The results found that 1) there were the problems of the supply chain management situation in three areas, consisting of management, personnel, and services. 2) the supply chain (SCOR Model) development was applied to all material procurement and inventory management processes 3) the supply chain (SCOR Model) development was evaluated after applying, and the results were summarized as problems in 3 areas, consisting of management, personnel, and service.

          In conclusion, a supply chain management policy using the SCOR model development for material procurement and inventory management could reduce the administrative burden in the issues of adequacy. Furthermore, the new policy reduces costs, diminishes redundant work, value for money and increases the level of satisfaction of the services.
