การศึกษาสถานการณ์สุขภาพแรงงานกลุ่มเสี่ยงต่อฝุ่นซิลิกาในประเทศไทย

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสถานการณ์สุขภาพแรงงานกลุ่มเสี่ยงต่อฝุ่นซิลิกาในประเทศไทย โดยศึกษาการกระจายตัวของโรงงาน คนงาน (ลูกจ้างหรือแรงงานในระบบ) และแรงงานนอกระบบที่สัมผัสฝุ่นซิลิกา แพทย์อาชีวเวชศาสตร์ เจ้าหน้าที่ความปลอดภัยในการทำงาน (จป.) และกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้องในปี พ.ศ. 2562 – 2564 โดยพบว่ายุทธศาสตร์จังหวัดและกฎหมายที่ปรับปรุงส่งผลต่อการตั้งโรงงานและการจ้างคนงาน จังหวัดสระบุรี มีโรงงานและคนงานที่เสี่ยงต่อการสัมผัสฝุ่นซิลิกาสูงสุด แต่จังหวัดนครราชสีมาพบผู้ป่วยด้วยโรคซิลิโคสิสและโรคทางเดินหายใจอื่น ๆ สูงสุด ซึ่งข้อมูลการเจ็บป่วยถูกวินิจฉัยโดยแพทย์อาชีวเวชศาสตร์ โดยไม่ระบุว่าเจ็บป่วยจากการทำงานหรือสิ่งแวดล้อม สำหรับการเฝ้าระวังสุขภาพตามกฎหมายเน้นเฉพาะคนงาน ซึ่งเจ้าหน้าที่ความปลอดภัยในการทำงานวิชาชีพมีบทบาทสำคัญ เนื่องจากซิลิโคสิสเป็นหนึ่งในโรคจากฝุ่นซิลิกาตามกฎหมาย และควรเพิ่มแพทย์อาชีวเวชศาสตร์ให้เพียงพอในการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคซิลิโคสิสให้ครอบคลุมทุกจังหวัด รวมทั้งพัฒนาศักยภาพให้ผู้บังคับใช้กฎหมายสามารถเฝ้าระวัง สอบสวน ป้องกัน ควบคุมโรคซิลิโคสิสและโรคอื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องให้มีประสิทธิผลต่อไป
