การศึกษานี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาแบบย้อนหลัง โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความชุกและปัจจัยเสี่ยงของจอตาลอกชนิดที่มีรูฉีกขาดของจอตา (RRD) ในผู้ป่วยที่เข้ารับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยจักษุวิทยา โรงพยาบาลมหาราชนครเชียงใหม่ กลุ่มตัวอย่างประกอบด้วยผู้ป่วย 360 รายที่ได้รับการวินิจฉัยว่ามีภาวะจอประสาทตาลอกระหว่างวันที่ 1 มกราคม 2565 ถึง 31 ธันวาคม 2565 การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและสถิติอนุมาน ได้แก่ การทดสอบไคสแควร์ การทดสอบฟิชเชอร์ และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยโลจิสติก เพื่อหาอัตราส่วนความเสี่ยงของปัจจัยต่างๆ ที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95%
ผลการศึกษาพบว่าความชุกของ RRD สูงกว่าชนิดที่ไม่ใช่ RRD ประมาณ 3 เท่า ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการเกิด RRD อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ การดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ โรคเบาหวาน ภาวะจอประสาทตาเสื่อมจากเบาหวาน สายตาสั้น การผ่าตัดตา และการบาดเจ็บที่ตา ส่วนการสูบบุหรี่และโรคมะเร็งไม่มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ผู้ป่วยที่มีประวัติการผ่าตัดภายในลูกตามีโอกาสเกิด RRD สูงกว่าผู้ที่ไม่มีประวัติดังกล่าว 5.20 เท่า (95% CI = 1.39-18.82) ในขณะที่การสูบบุหรี่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการลดโอกาสการเกิด RRD 0.13 เท่า (95% CI = -3.83 ถึง -0.26) ผลการศึกษานี้ชี้ให้เห็นว่าควรมีการเฝ้าระวังและให้ความรู้แก่ผู้ป่วยที่มีปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อการเกิด RRD โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผู้ที่มีประวัติการผ่าตัดตา สายตาสั้น เบาหวาน และการบาดเจ็บที่ตา นอกจากนี้ ควรมีการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการสูบบุหรี่และการเกิด RRD
