Innovative Miracle Cryo Gel to Reduce Acute Pain and Prevent Bleeding Post Eye Surgery

Nasolacrimal duct obstruction is an abnormality of the tear duct pathway with symptoms of tears, inflammation, pain, and swelling under the eyes around tear duct. Surgery is therefore an alternative treatment to create a pathway for tears from the lacrimal sac to the nasopharynx. Possible complications after surgery include nose bleeds, bleeding under the skin and infection at the surgical site and pain at the wound site. There are many ways to help reduce the condition, such as cold compress, and distraction, etc. The author is interested in cold compress because it is an independent role that nurses can perform within their professional scope, focusing on holistic nursing. From empirical evidence and a systematic review of the literature on cold compress, it was found that the cold reduces secretion of chemicals that stimulate pain-sensing nerve endings, causing cell inflammation and cell oxygen consumption, resulting in decreased perception of pain and prevention of swelling due to vasoconstriction effect. Therefore, the author has developed an innovation, “Miracle cryo-gel to reduce acute pain and prevent bleeding post-surgery for nasolacrimal obstruction”.
