Abstract

School bullying among adolescents is a widespread public health problem that negatively affects their mental health. Bullying refers to intentional, repeated aggressive behavior between peers that causes harm to others. Victims of bullying may experience severe psychological distress, including anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. This article aimed to examine approaches to preventing school bullying among adolescents in the digital era, as well as systematic prevention measures implemented in schools. The review was conducted by systematically searching previous research studies in related issues using a clearly defined search strategy and the PICO framework. Relevant studies were identified from both domestic and international databases published from 2018 to 2023. The sociological model was used to explain factors associated with school bullying. The findings indicated that the prevention of school bullying among adolescents in the digital era comprises three major components: universal approaches, targeted approaches, and student handling. The major goal is to provide evidence that can inform the development of programs and preventive measures to reduce or prevent mental health problems among adolescents. These efforts should take into account the changing nature of school bullying in the digital era, which has transformed adolescents' ways of life and consequently altered both the forms of bullying and approaches to its prevention.
