The development of a preparatory practice guideline for pregnant women with hypertension attending the first caesarean section prior to intrathecal anesthesia by nurse anesthetists.

This research was action research aimed to develop and study the outcomes of a preparatory practice guideline for pregnant women with hypertension attending the first caesarean section prior to intrathecal anesthesia by nurse anesthetists. The research period was August 2021 – September 2022. The sample group consisted of 30 pregnant women with hypertension who received their first caesarean section. The tools used for data collection were the pre-anesthetic visit record form. ASA Class preoperative assessment form, anesthesia recording form, satisfaction rating form and anxiety Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, Paired t-test and content analysis.
The results of the study were as follows: Guidelines for preparation of pregnant women consisted of 1) assessment of readiness/anxiety for planning of care; before giving anesthesia. 3) Prepare educational media. Documents, brochures and video clips about “Behavior before and after surgery by the anesthesiology team” for pregnant women and their relatives 4) Planning for anesthesia Prevention of adverse events/deaths. in the anesthetist team. 6) Follow-up visits after surgery to plan nursing care. The results of preparation for care in pregnant women with an average of reduced anxiety in all aspects. Satisfaction is at the highest level. Complications were found, including hypotension 25.40%, nausea/vomiting 4.76%, pain in the recovery room 1.59%, itching 1.59%. Patients with such complications received appropriate management/care.
