Nursing care of the patient with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction and received intravenous thrombolytic drug: Two case studies

Abstract

     This study was compares two case studied to study patients with acute myocardial infarction who were treated with thrombolytic drugs. at the accident and emergency department Huai Mek Hospital, study results found that

     Case study 1: A 56-year-old Thai man, 1 hour before coming to the hospital, had symptoms of tightness in his left chest. Admitted for care at the Emergency Department; electrocardiogram found ST-Elevation at Leads II, III, AVR. The doctor diagnosed acute myocardial infarction and consulted a cardiologist from a tertiary hospital who gave treatment recommendations. Anticoagulants and platelets Streptokinase 1.5 mu intravenously Monitor for symptom changes and complications until safely being transferred to a hospital with higher capacity for treatment.

     Case study 2: Thai man, age 69 years, 7 hours before coming to the hospital. There is tightness in the chest as if something is pressing on. Received treatment at the emergency department, and an electrocardiogram found ST-Elevation at V1-V5. The doctor diagnosed acute myocardial infarction and consulted a Cardiologist from a tertiary hospital. There are treatment recommendations given. Antiplatelet medicine and streptokinase 1.5 mu intravenously. Monitor for symptom changes and complications until safely transferred to a hospital with a higher capacity for treatment.
