Nursing Care of Acute Cholecystitis for patient Undergoing Open Cholecystectomy : 2 cases study

Abstract

      This study was case study aimed to study and compare the causes, symptoms, treatment and nursing diagnosis. Patients with acute cholecystitis undergoing open abdominal surgery, 2 case studies, studied by purposive selection. Patients diagnosed with acute cholecystitis Two patients who had open abdominal surgery and were admitted to the surgery department at Khon Kaen Hospital.

      The results of the study found that case study number 1 came with abdominal pain. Vomiting along with high fever, panting, lethargy, and septic shock. The second case had abdominal pain and fever. Both cases were diagnosed with acute cholecystitis from gallstones (Acute Calculus Cholecystitis) and received surgical treatment. Open Cholecystectomy Method The nursing diagnosis in the preoperative period is the same: abdominal pain due to contraction of the gallbladder from acute inflammation. Anxiety about disease and surgery have a high body temperature The same thing in the postoperative period is pain in the surgical wound from tissue injured from surgery. Ineffective breathing pattern Electrolyte imbalance, bloating, and risk of complications after surgery. and lack of knowledge in self-management As for the nursing diagnosis in the different preoperative stages Case study number 1 had septic shock. Expectoration is not effective due to decreased level of consciousness. While the second case study had high blood pressure. In the postoperative period Case 1 had complications from a lung infection and bloating, while case 2 had only bloating. Important nursing care is preparing patients who need surgery in emergencies. Managing problems in the preoperative period to prevent significant risks in Nursing care for pain relief Preventing complications after surgery Empowering patients to restore their condition and plan nursing care until the patient is discharged After providing nursing care, both patients were safe and confident in taking care of themselves. Can be sent home. Patient 1 stayed in the hospital for 10 days. Patient 2 stayed in the hospital for 7 days.
