Abstract

     This study was case study with the objective of comparing 2 case studies in nursing care of elderly hip fracture patients who received hip arthroplasty and have comorbidities. Purposive selection was performed on two elderly patients with hip fractures from falls who had undergone hip arthroplasty with comorbidities. who come to receive treatment in the orthopedic surgery department Kalasin Hospital.
     The results of the study found that in Case Study 1, a 70-year-old Thai woman had significant symptoms 11 hours before slipping and falling, pain in her left hip, being unable to walk and put her weight on. The relatives were taken to the community hospital. X-ray results of Both Hip Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral (LAT) found a Close fracture neck of left femur with a Long leg posterior slab (LLS). The patient had a congenital disease, namely diabetes, so he was referred to Kalasin Hospital. The patient received hip replacement surgery. During surgery, the patient lost 300 ml of blood. After surgery, he was transferred to the Orthopedic Surgery Building, had anemia, received antibiotics, received fluids, received 1 unit of PRC and pain relievers, used nursing procedures and Standards for patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team To keep patients safe No complications Can be sold back home safely and return for follow-up follow-up with the doctor for follow-up appointments at the orthopedic and joint surgery outpatient department. Kalasin Hospital Total length of hospital stay is 6 days. Case study 2: A 79-year-old Thai woman presented with symptoms of losing control when walking, slipped and fell, had left hip pain for 1 week and was unable to walk on her own. The relatives then took him to Kalasin Hospital. Has a congenital disease, diabetes. X-ray results of Both Hip Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral (LAT) found Close fracture neck of left femur. Send Admit to Female Orthopedic Surgery Building. Received treatment with On Skin traction 3 kgs. Sent to consult an internist and anesthesiologist to plan the surgery. Before surgery, DTX results 161 mg% Hct 26.7% CXR EKG results were normal. The internist agreed that surgery could be performed. During surgery, blood loss was 350 ml. Received PRC 1.
