Development of Emergency Management Model for Udonthani Airport Point of Entry

Abstract

     This action research aims to 1) Assess the risk of disease and health hazards that may occur in Udonthani Airport Point of Entry 2) Develop an emergency management model for Udonthani Airport Point of Entry and 3) Evaluate the outcomes of the emergency management model. The study population consists of personnel from agencies involved in disease prevention and control at Udonthani Airport. The sample is divided into two groups: one participating in risk analysis and emergency response plan development, comprising 14 individuals, and the other evaluating the suitability of the emergency response plan, comprising 45 individuals. Research tools include risk matrix assessment form, emergency response plan form, questionnaires for evaluate emergency plan suitability. Statistical analysis methods include mean, percentage, standard deviation, and mode. The study findings

1. The results from the risk assessment indicate high-risk diseases and health hazards, including: 1) Novel Influenza virus 2) Indoor air quality hazards 3) Air pollution from small dust particles. Additionally, moderate-risk diseases and health hazards including 1) Yellow fever 2) Tuberculosis 3) Cobalt from passenger baggage screening machines 4) Fire 5) Aircraft runway excursion.

3. The evaluation of Hazard specific plan's suitability found that, overall, the average score of suitability is at a high level.
