Effects of a Program for Preparing Pregnant Women before Spinal Anesthesia on Knowledge, Attitude, and Anxiety among First-Time Mothers Who Gave Birth by C-Section at Lamphun Hospital.

This study was a quasi-experimental research study with a one-group pretest-posttest design aimed at studying the effects of a program for preparing pregnant women before spinal anesthesia on knowledge, attitude, and anxiety among first-time mothers who gave birth by C-Section at Lamphun Hospital. The sample was 45 first-time mothers who gave birth by c-section. Data were collected from questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test statistics.
According to the findings, after the program, the sample had significantly higher mean scores for knowledge and attitude (p < .001). The mean knowledge score of the sample before the program was 6.98 and 9.87 after the program and the mean attitude score of the sample before the program was 7.56 and 14.09 after the program. The sample had a significantly lower mean anxiety score (p < .001) with the sample’s mean anxiety score from before the program being 21.80 and 12.11 after the program.
