Development of anesthesia nursing service model for one-day surgery patients In Kasetwisai Hospital, Roi Et Province.

Abstract

     This action research aimed to study the problems, develop and use to develop an anesthesia nursing service model for day surgery patients at Kasetwisai Hospital, Roi Et Province. Study was conducted between January and October 2024, a total of 11 months. The qualitative sample consisted of 22 operating room personnel, and the quantitative sample consisted of 65 day surgery patients. Research tools in study included open-ended focus group discussion questions, educational media on day surgery, a general data collection form, an anesthesia nursing model suitability assessment form for day surgery patients, and an anesthesia nursing model satisfaction assessment form for day surgery patients. Qualitative data were analyzed using content triangulation, and quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. And compare before and after with paired-t test statistics.
     The study results found that the development process consists of 6 important models as follows: 1) Develop a clinic to assess and prepare patients before anesthesia that provides day surgery and minor surgery. 2) Develop a guideline for preparing patients for anesthesia for day surgery patients. 3) Develop a media document with instructions for day surgery patients. 4) Develop a day colon cancer screening test (Colonoscope ODS). 5) Publicize the day surgery project throughout the organization and in the area. 6) Review the roles and responsibilities of the work process to be clearer and work more as a team. The results of the model resulted in a statistically significant improvement in satisfaction of service recipients at the .05 level, t = 8.82 The results of using the guidelines resulted in anesthesia nurses' appropriateness in day surgery, a decrease in the incidence of unpreparedness for surgery, and a decrease in complications from self-care after day surgery. Knowledge of preparing for day surgery improved.
