Factors associated with COVID-19 Preventive Behavior among Kui ethnic group In Tum sub-district, Si Rattana district, Sisaket province, Thailand

A cross-sectional analytical study aims to investigated factors associated with the Covid-19
preventive behavior among Kui ethnic group In Tum sub-district, Si Rattana district, Sisaket province. The
participants were 304 among Kui ethnic group over 15 years old. Data collection was conducted using
questionnaires. A multivariable logistic regression was analyzed to describe the association between
different factors and Covid-19 preventive behavior. An adjusted odds ratio (AOR) and 95% confidence
interval (95% CI) were presented. The result showed that the Kui ethnic were female (59.54%), highest
educational level was primary school (53.95%), and occupational were agriculture (47.04%). The average
size of household was 5.43±1.69 persons per household and most of all were extended families
(55.59%). 8.88% of participant were a history with COVID-19 confirmed infection, 14.14% were had had
a family member with COVID-19, and 61.18% were had a history of high-risk close contact. The
Knowledge, Attitude, Perceived susceptibility, Perceived severity, Perceived benefit, social support, and
living culture of Covid-19 preventive were middle level. The results indicated three predicted factors of
the Covid-19 preventive behavior among Kui ethnic group including family income more than 10,000
bath per month (Adjusted odds ratio (AOR) = 7.29, 95% Confidence interval (95% CI= 1.66-31.97),
extended families (AOR = 4.07, 95% CI= 1.46-11.40), and a good level of social support (AOR = 4.19, 95%
CI= 1.68-10.44) . Therefore, the government officer should provide support the subsistence factors
between home quarantine (HQ). The health care team should be using the key predictors of this research
findings to guide the development of programs that promote preventive behaviors of COVID -19 infection
and transmission for the Kui ethnic group or similarly ethnic.
