Abstract

Telemedicine has played an essential role in the health promotion system, especially in chronic diseases that require patients to be closely monitored for their symptoms. The system developers recognize the importance of monitoring the treatment and self-care of chronic diseases, including diabetic mellitus. Therefore, we have developed a mobile application and web application, "Dietz", to diagnose and treat symptoms through telemedicine between doctors and patients. The application allows patients to self-record blood glucose levels at different times, doses of insulin injections used, behavior and food intake, contacting and receiving advice from relevant medical personnel. Regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic that has resulted in widespread infection, patients with chronic diseases who are infected tend to have severe symptoms and have a high mortality rate. Therefore, the Dietz telemedicine application was a system that solves this problem by reducing the risk of infection through contact, congestion in the hospital, and improving patient comfort.
