The implementation of data warehouse for result reporting system: The case of out patient university clinic in Thailand

This research aims to develop a result reporting system by utilizing data from a data warehouse designed for an outpatient clinic in a Thai university. Through a case study of the data warehouse, existing reports, data limitations of the hospital information system (HIS), and other information systems will be analyzed to extract data for use in the prototype data warehouse. The research findings indicate that the prototype data warehouse for performance reporting will consist of six main tables: patients, diagnosis, drugs and medical supplies, procedures and medical services, drug transactions, and procedure, medical service transactions. These data warehouse tables will be used to create reports with tabs for main dashboard, diagnosis, drug, and service. Each indicator and report can be drilled down into detailed levels and presented in various visual formats such as charts and tables. This data can be used to compare statistics by group of patients.
