Awareness of professional nurse’s right of health insurance in tertiary hospital

This descriptive research aimed to study the awareness of professional nurses' rights to health insurance in a tertiary hospital. The sample group consisted of professional nurses working at Buddhachinnaraj Phitsanulok Hospital who had been employed for at least six months. Multistage random sampling included three hundred forty-one participants. Data were collected using a questionnaire on the awareness of professional nurses' rights to health insurance in a tertiary hospital, with a content validity index of 0.82 and a reliability coefficient (Cronbach's alpha) of 0.85. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research found that professional nurses had a high level of awareness of the Universal Health Coverage Fund (Mean = 1.61, S.D. = 0.57), a moderate level of awareness of the Social Security Fund (Mean = 1.32, S.D. = 0.61), and a high level of awareness of the Civil Service Fund (Mean = 1.47, S.D. = 0.62).
Therefore, the research results should be used to develop and promote awareness of professional nurses' social security rights to ensure they can protect patient benefits, cover all funds, and use resources efficiently in the future.
