Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to describe the lived experiences of resilience among families affected by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Participants were family members who had experienced COVID-19 infection within their households. Twelve families were purposively selected. Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis.

The findings revealed that resilience experiences among families affected by COVID-19 comprised four major themes: 1) family strength during crisis, 2) support networks beyond the household, 3) assistance from the community healthcare system, and 4) coping through seeking health-related information. These themes reflected the dynamic process by which families mobilized internal strengths, external social resources, and proactive health-seeking behaviors to navigate the crisis.

The study highlights that resilience among families affected by COVID-19 may be applied in organizing activities and developing programs to promote family resilience among family affected by COVID-19 and/or those facing future family crises.
