2. Aim and scope

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal is published by the Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani, Department of Disease Control. The journal disseminates original articles, editorials, research articles, academic articles, and disease investigation reports related to disease prevention and control, health hazards, and health promotion works, including communicable diseases, sexually transmitted infections, non-communicable diseases, and occupational and environmental diseases.

3. Type of Article

  3.1) Research article

"A research article" refers to a manuscript derived from a research report, study report, independent study, or thesis, based on the researcher’s primary data. It presents a concise summary of the research process in the form of an article following the standard structure of a research paper. The components include title, author(s), institutional affiliation, abstract, keywords in both Thai and English, introduction, objectives, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion, recommendations, acknowledgements, and references. The length of the article must not exceed 15 A4 pages.

  3.2) Academic article

“A academic article” refers to a manuscript developed through the compilation of knowledge and a literature review on one or more topics within the journal’s scope. The content is synthesized and reorganized to explain, analyze, and interpret information, or to propose academic knowledge, innovations, or contributions beneficial to society. The components include title, author(s), institutional affiliation, abstract, keywords in both Thai and English, introduction, main content, conclusion, and references. The length of the article must not exceed 15 A4 pages.

  3.3) Investigation Report

"A full epidemiological investigation report" refers to a report on disease and health hazard investigations comprising the following components: title, author(s) and investigation team, abstract, introduction, objectives, investigation methods, investigation results, discussion, problems and limitations, conclusion, recommendations, acknowledgements, and references. The length of the article must not exceed 15 A4 pages.

4. Publication Frequency

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal is scheduled for publication of 3 issues per year (every 4 months) as follows:

Issue 1: January – April
Issue 2: May – August
Issue 3: September – December

5. Peer Review Process

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal welcomes submissions provided that the work has not been previously published or is not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal.

All academic works accepted for publication undergo a rigorous review process based on Peer Review. The manuscripts will be evaluated by two (2) content and research methodology reviewers who will assist in enhancing the quality of the manuscript. This review process employs a Double-Blinded assessment format. 

Furthermore, the Editorial Office reserves the right to edit manuscripts for clarity and to determine the final acceptance and order of publication based on submission sequence.

6.  Publication Fees

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal operates with no Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees for authors or reviewers.

7. Open Access, Copyright, and Editorial Policy

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal operates as an online journal and provides Open Access (OA). Any reader, automated information system, automatic database, or institutional automated library system may access and download article files from the website free of charge. This content is provided under the terms of the Creative Commons License (CC): Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). (This means users must provide Attribution, and the work may Not be used for Commercial purposes, and No Derivatives/modifications may be made.)

8.  Conflict of Interest/Competing Interest Policy

The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 8 Udon Thani Journal maintains a strict policy to avoid conflicts of interest among the Editorial Board, reviewers, and authors to ensure transparency and academic integrity in the publication process.

For Authors: Any direct or indirect conflicts of interest related to the manuscript must be officially disclosed by the authors via the journal's online submission system. Research data must be utilized without bias that could influence the study's results, conclusions, or discussion. 

For Reviewers: Reviewers must inform the Handling Editor of any potential conflicts of interest or relationships with the research. If any connection exists, reviewers must notify the Editor to ensure transparent evaluation. The Editor will determine whether the reviewer may proceed with the assessment.

All parties are expected to maintain transparency throughout the publication process. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the final decision on accepting or reassigning manuscripts when conflicts arise.
