Developing Potential of Village Health Volunteer for Coronavirus - 2019 Prevention and Control in Ban Thephprathap Moo 9 Nangiw Sub-District Sangkhom District, Nongkhai Province.

Abstract

This action research aimed to study the potential development of village Health Volunteers in preventing and controlling COVID-19. Using a participatory planning process (AIC). 30 public health volunteers and 15 representatives of community leaders and relevant government agencies participated in the planning process, total in 45 participants were respondents. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected between 1 April - 30 November 2022. Using the interview form with terms of knowledge and behaviors. Tool was qualified by Couder Richardson's method, the validity was 0.83, the difficulty and the discrimination power was between 0.20-0.80 in practice and reliability by Cronbach's Method was 0.84. Data were analyzed by SPSS using descriptive statistics, percentage, mean, deviation. The research results showed that knowledge and practice in prevention and control of COVID-19 of public health volunteers 1) knowledge after development had increased knowledges 2) Practice after the development, the most regular practices are wash hands with water and soap or alcohol gel frequently and the least regular practices are keep a distance of 1-2 meters 3) The result of the participatory planning meeting resulted in 2 projects to solve the problems as follows: (1) Potential Development Project for Village Volunteers in preventing and controlling COVID-19, Ban Thephprathap Moo 9 Nangiw Sub-District Sangkhom District, Nongkhai Province. (2) Project Developing a clean village free from COVID-19.
