Abstract

This study aimed to study exercise behavior of the elderly and create exercise patterns for the Pga K’nyau elderly, Mae Nachang Subdistrict, Mae La Noi District, Mae Hong Son Province. The samples were divided into 2 groups, the first group was the elderly who lived in Mae Nahang Subdistrict, they aged between 60 and 65 years old, the number of samples used in the study was 170 persons by examples of Krejcie and Morgan and the second group those involved in the exercise of 11 elderly people in the sub-district. The tools of this research were divided into 2 issues: a questionnaire and the interview about the exercise patterns for the elderly. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean standard deviation, and content analysis.


            The study was found that most of the elderly was males between 60 and 62 years of age, with body weight was between 45-49 kilograms, they were a marital status, no education, and agricultural occupations for 100.00%. Their health behaviors by smoking, drinking, and eating raw food while exercise behavior was at an unprecedented level. Exercise patterns for the elderly were determining the posture of exercise by increasing flexibility of muscles and joints, continuing to increase muscle strength and endurance, increasing blood circulation, heart, and tube blood, and practicing balance.
