Abstract

The objective of this study was to study the effect of lower body training using a weight trainer on leg muscle strength. The sample consisted of 20 students aged between 20 and 21 years old. Each group of 10 people is the control group and the experimental group. The experimental group will perform supplementary training with a lower body training program using a weight training machine. There were six exercises, as follows: 1) Squats; 2) Leg Press; 3) Leg Extension; 4) Leg Curl; 5) Hip Abduction; and 6) Hip Adduction. After the experiment, leg muscle strength tests were measured with a leg press, and the data were analyzed by average (), standard deviation (S.D.), and comparing the difference in mean leg muscle strength with a t-test with a significance level of 0.05. It was concluded that exercise using a weight trainer could improve leg muscle strength in college students.
