Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effects of creative physical education activities based on the PTRU Model, which comprises Physical Activity, Teamwork, Responsibility, and Understanding, on physical fitness, social skills, responsibility, and health attitudes among primary school students. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were 60 Grade 4 students selected through cluster random sampling from the Demonstration School of Uttaradit Rajabhat University. The intervention was administered over a six-week period, two sessions per week, 60 minutes each, totaling 12 sessions. The research instruments included 1) a physical fitness test, 2) social skills and responsibility scales, and 3) a health attitude questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics; frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation and inferential statistics using a paired sample t-test to compare pretest and posttest scores. The results revealed that students’ physical fitness, social skills, responsibility, and health attitudes improved significantly at the .05 level after participating in the activities. These findings suggest that creative physical education activities based on the PTRU Model effectively enhance students’ physical, mental, and social development in a holistic manner.
