Abstract
This research investigated the relationships between safety climate and safety behaviors at work among employees of a chicken meat processing factory in Nakhon Sawan Province. The objectives were to: 1) study the safety climate of a chicken meat processing factory; 2) study the safety behaviors of employees at work; and 3) study the relationship between the safety climate and the safety behaviors of employees at work. The sample consisted of 58 employees from the fillet section and the chicken deboning section, which were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and simple regression analysis. The statistical significance level was set at 0.05. The results showed that most of the samples were female (62.07%), aged between 26 and 35 years old (58.62%), had an education level of secondary school (43.10%), had 1–4 years of work experience (62.07%), had received safety training (72.41%), and had never experienced an accident at work (81.03%). The overall opinion level on the safety climate was very high, as was the level of safety behaviors. Furthermore, the data analysis found that the safety climate had a statistically significant positive relationship with safety behaviors. The study clearly demonstrated that nurturing a positive safety climate within the organization plays a crucial role in promoting and stimulating employees to engage in safety behaviors.
