Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the objective to study direct and indirect influences of factors affecting the characteristics of sports science students in the 21st century. The population and sample are 500 male and female students from the first to fourth year of the Sports Science program who were studying in the second semester of the academic year 2024. They were selected using a purposive sampling method. The research tools are questionnaire on the causal influence model affecting the characteristics of sports science students in the 21st century was divided into 4 aspects: self-development, student background, curriculum acceptance, and sports scientist characteristics. The statistics used in the research were mean, standard deviation and percentage. The results indicated that the causal influence model affecting the characteristics of sports science students in the 21st century. In this research, 4 causal influences were studied, which were at a high level, except for the curriculum acceptance aspect, which was at the highest level, and a causal variables influencing to the characteristics of sports science student in the 21st century by the following fit measures: Chisquare (χ2) goodness of fit test = 70.46, Chi-Square/Degree of Freedom (χ2/df) = 0.95, Probability Value (p-value) = 0.011, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.030, Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) = 0.91, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) = 0.91, Critical N (CN) = 428.11, Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 1.00, Root Mean Square Residual (RMR) = 0.0086, and Alpha Coefficient (R2) = 0.85. In conclusion, the direct and indirect influences of factors affecting the characteristics of students majoring in sports science in each aspect are equally important, because when students choose to study in this field, they must see the importance of creating the greatest benefit in their careers in the future.
