Effects of the leg muscle strength training with Meditation training on lay-up shooting accuracy of male students Roi Et Rajabhat University

Abstract

                        This research aimed at comparing the effects of muscle strength training with the meditation on the lay-up shooting accuracy of male students from Roi Et Rajabhat University. Purposive random sampling was used. 36 samples divided into 2 groups for attending the 8-week programs as follows, the experimental group attending the program of weight training with the Anapanasati-meditation, the control group attending the program of weight training. The pre-training tests and the post-training tests of the 60 second lay-up shooting accuracy were used for collecting data. Data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Statistical significance at the 0.05 level.


                       It was found that the accuracy of the experimental group was increased (45.68%), whereas, the control group (35.52%). The accuracy of both groups was increased at the 0.05 level. of significance. The scores of lay-up shooting accuracy of the experimental group were higher at the 0.05 level of significance. The muscle strength training program with the Anapanasati-meditation had the effects on the lay-up shooting accuracy in a very good level (Effect size d =1.28).
