Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive research study was to investigate the need for self development in MOPH compliance, and the factors affecting the need for self development in MOPH compliance. A questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data from 371 civil servants under the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Health Office. Data were analyzed using percent, mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values, and tested dependent variables between current MOPH compliance and the need for self development in MOPH compliance using Paired – Sample T Test. The relationship between independent and dependent variables was analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Analyze the rational relationship between independent variables and the need for self development in MOPH compliance to predict variation using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. Statistical significance was set at the .05 level.

The study found that most of the samples were following the current MOPH values at a high level, 75.5% having an average score of 142.47, standard deviation was 15.98 and the need for self development in MOPH compliance at a high level, 75.2% having an average score of 146.67, standard deviation was 25.83. As a comparison, it was found that the mean score of the need for self development in MOPH compliance was greater than the average score of current MOPH compliance. There were 6 independent variables affecting the need for self development in MOPH compliance of the sample group, in descending order of relationship as follows: 1) achievement motivation, 2) satisfaction with the organization climate, 3) attitude towards MOPH values, 4) knowledge of MOPH value,       5) nature of work and 6) position level. (Beta = .668, .269, .241, .207, -.081 and .077 respectively) All 6 independent variables could explain 51.2% of the variance in the need for self development in MOPH compliance. (R2 = .512)
