Effects of using Vaseline gauze for the healing of wounds opened

Abstract

     This research is a single group quasi experimental design. Measurement before and after the experiment with the objective to study the context of a group of patients with open wounds and factors affecting wound healing. Effects of using Vaseline gauze for the healing of open wounds. In patients with open wounds for 2 weeks or more is not a wound caused by pressure sore , malignancy and  dressing wound everyday at the Emergency department. Kosumphisai Hospital MahaSarakham Province. A specific selection of 80 people during the month of November. 2021 to July 2022. Data was collected using an interview forms about 1) A general information. 2. PUSH wound healing assessment (PUSH TOOL) 3. Satisfaction with wound dressing services of nurse and 4. Evaluation of data collection and analysis.

     The results of the study were the sample group the most were female, Age ranges between 41-50 years, Married, occupation were agriculture, Educational level were primary school, income is less than 2000 baht  per monthly, had diabetes, Chronic kidney failure stage 3 to 5,no drink alcohol, smokes, without exercise at all,  cause of wound were inflammation, wounded form 14 to  28 days. The most position of wounds were on the feet and hands. Before the experiment , there were moderate to severe wound pained. After the experiment, there were few to no wound pained. Satisfied for the wound dressing of nurse. The Ulcer Scale for Healing  before the experiment were 6-15 points, after 2-13 points. Hypothesis testing  about Effects of using Vaseline gauze for the healing of wound opened. T test statistic of 17.88, the statistical significance  was 0.00.
