Nursing care of hyperthyroid patients receiving general anesthesia with difficult intubation: a case study

This study was case study aimed to study nursing care for hypothyroid patients receiving general anesthesia with difficult intubation.
Results: Female patient of Myanmar nationality, age 33 years, admitted to the hospital on September 13, 2023. Important symptoms were fatigue, shortness of breath, 1 day before coming to the hospital. Surgery plan is Total Thyroidectomy + Rigid bronchoscope. The patient was received general anesthesia. Period before anesthesia, the patient is worried. During the anesthesia, the patient was difficult airway problem, difficult to intubate and had risk of thyroid storm. After anesthesia, patient had a risk of injury to the laryngeal nerve and vocal cord paralysis. Patient was received a nursing care from the team nursing. The dangerous complications was no occurred. The surgery was successful for 2 days, the breathing tube was removed, and the patient was discharged on September 22, 2023, Total of hospital admission for 9 days.
