Nursing Care for Stroke patient in the acute phase : A Comparative 2 Case Studies

This study was case study aimed to study and compare the nursing care process in 2 stroke patients. Comparative study of nursing care process for 2 acute stroke patients who receiving services at the Emergency and Forensic department of Sichomphu hospital, Khon Kaen Province. The research instruments include: Data record forms from outpatient medical records. Interviews with patients and relatives, observation, data analysis comparative following the 11 functional health patterns analysis. Specified the diagnosis of nursing care, planing of nursing care, nursing care practice and evaluation of nursing care result.
Results: The first case study, patient is a 79 year old Thai female presented with weakness on the right side extremities for 15 minutes before arriving at the hospital and diagnosed with Stroke. The second case study, a 52 year old Thai female presented with alteration of consciousness, unable to speak, headaches, and weakness on the left side extremity for 4.5 hours before arriving at the hospital, Acute Stroke was diagnosed. Both patients were referred.
