Nursing Care For The Patients With End Stage Chronic Renal Disease On Hemodialysis : A Comparative 2 Case Study

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study of the nursing care for patient with end stage chronic kidney disease who receive hemodialysis. And to compare 2 cases study in pre-hemodialysis and post-hemodialysis. The study of patient with end stage renal disease by 2 purposive sampling who receive treatment at In Patient Department, Sichomphu hospital, Khonkaen province. The instrument to collect the data include of the data record forms from medical record, interview, and observation to analyse and specified the nursing diagnosis following the 11 functional health patterns for analyse and planning of nursing care practice.

     Results: the comparison between 2 cases study found that the nursing care process, search for the demand of patient’s health and provide nursing care which related to end stage renal disease can decrease the risk of complications. The patients are safe, be able to provide self-care and good quality of life. Both patients have underlying with hypertension caused by the patient’s life-style behavior such as food consumption, smoking and alcohol drinking. The first case study, patient had been receiving hemodialysis for 5-6 years. The second patient had been receiving hemodialysis for 2 times. Both patients are concerned about illness, inappropriate self-care behavior, high sodium consumption which affected  hypertension disease.
