Nursing Care of Patients with Acute ST- Elevation Myocardial Infarction at Emergency and Forensic Department, Nong Ruea Hospital: Two case studies

Abstract

     This case study aimed to study nursing care of patients with acute myocardial infarction, type STEMI. Two patients admitted to emergency and forensic department at Nong Ruea Hospital, Khonkaen Province. This study was a descriptive study that compared the illness history, prognosis of disease, treatments, and nursing care using the nursing process to solve problems including, nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

     The results showed that two case studies had underlying diseases both high blood pressure and high dyslipidemia. There were obviously symptoms of two cases including chest pain and sweating. After receiving anti-coagulant drug streptokinase, the complications found that case 1 showed low blood pressure and case 2 also presented low blood pressure, low level of consciousness, drowsy, hypoxia due to low efficiency breathing.  Following resuscitation, the patient's condition were much better symptoms, and they were safely referred to Khonkaen Hospital through the Fast Track STEMI service system.
