Client satisfaction with the development one day surgery in Somdetphaphuthalertla Hospital

Abstract

     This study was survey research by cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate client satisfaction with the development one day surgery in Somdetphaphuthalertla Hospital. The sampling groups include a total of 130 patients with a one-day surgery system whose treatment is an endoscopic investigation for the upper and lower digestive system, inguinal hernia surgery, breast lump surgery, endoscopic dissolving the gallstones, cyst lithotripsy, pterygium surgery, cervical surgery, and circumcision. The data was collected from the hospital services from 1 January to 31 July 2023. The tool for this study is a survey on satisfaction with one-day surgery, which content proven by 3 experts. The statistics used in this study include mean (M), percentage, and standard deviation (SD).
     The results from this study showed overall high scores of satisfactions by patients on a one-day surgery system in Somdetphaphuthalertla Hospital (M=4.02 and SD=.306). The highest satisfaction is from the informative suggestions (M=4.03 and SD=.345), including post-surgery follow-up and information self-care guidelines of surgical wound care, medicinal uptakes, surgical suture removal, disorders needed to be seen, and the emergency contact number. Meanwhile, the lowest satisfaction is from long-term caring (M=4.0 and SD=.344), including the call-back follow-up after the surgery, and the onsite appointment at the hospital on week 2 after the surgery.
