Development of nursing system for neonatal sepsis In Phaholpolpayuhasena hospital, Kanchanaburi province

The research and development aimed to develop and study the effect of nursing system for neonatal sepsisin Phaholpolpayuhasena hospital, Kanchanaburi province and based on Donabedian system as a conceptual framework. Sample size were 60 newborns at risk of sepsis admitted to Phahon Phon Phayuhasena Hospital from April 2022 to September 2022 by purposive selection. Data collection tools: questions used in group discussions, knowledge questionnaire, nursing skill evaluation form, readiness of nursing practice evaluation form, satisfaction assessment form and neonatal sepsis form. Qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation and t-test statistics.
The results were as follows: 1) The nursing system for neonatal sepsis in Phaholpolpayuhasena hospital consisted of CARES model. 2) Nurses had significantly higher mean scores on knowledge, nursing skill and readiness of nursing practice after using the nursing system at .05 level (p<.01), score of satisfaction was the most level. 3) Newborn received faster diagnosis and treatment, it was found reduce the neonatal sepsis rate and there were no deaths.
