The development of Care Management for Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction Rattanawapi Hospital, Nongkhai Province.

Abstract

This action research aims to develop a care management for patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction at Rattanawapi Hospital, Nongkhai province. The study focuses on 27 register nurses working in nursing department. Data had been collected from March to December 2023. The research was conducted into three phases: 1) Analyzing the situation, 2) Developing the model, and 3) Assessing the outcomes.  The quantitative data were analyzed by basic statistic and paired t-test and the qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. This research has found the followings:

                   The development of care management for patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction consists of cognitive preparation about Acute Myocardial Infarction, cause, risk factors, complications, medical treatment and practical skills of the care management for patients} then put into practice in the same way. There are the processes of screening period, nursing care period, patient referral period, and treatment results period including the communication for operational progress evaluation.                   The overall score regarding the knowledge of care and treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction was moderate for prior development (Mean=19.41, S.D.=2.55) and significantly increased for post-development (Mean=27.41, S.D.=0.84) with a statistically significant difference at level 0.05 (p-value<0.001).        Similarly, the practical skills score of patient care for prior development was moderate (Mean=2.78, S.D.=0.31) and it improved to a higher level for post-development (Mean=4.30, S.D.=0.45) with a statistically significant difference at level 0.05 (p-value<0.001). The qualitative results met the quality patient care according to the hub of health service, the 8^th region.
