Nursing care of a patient with a cerebral aneurysm after undergoing surgery to Clipping the cerebral aneurysm and having a lung infection: a case study

This study was case study aimed to study nursing care for patients with cerebral aneurysms after undergoing
surgery to Clipping the cerebral aneurysm and having lung infections in the postoperative period. By study a Thai female patient, age 58 years old, was admitted to the hospital on 19 August 2023 with symptoms of lethargy 4 hours before coming to the hospital. CTA brain results showed acute SAH at both parietal-temporal, saccular type AcoA aneurysm.
Results: The patient was sent for Lt pterional craniotomy with aneurysm ciipping at Thammasat University
Hospital. After surgery, the patient was sent back for nursing care on 25 August 2023. The patient followed and was put in a tracheal tube. There was a lot of mucus. A lung infection was found. The patient was depressed. And then
was sent for CT brain and this found Rt hydrocephalus. The patient received Rt ventriculostomy surgery. Preoperative
period, nurse prevented tissue oxygen depletion, reduced lung infections and prevented IICP in patient. The patient
had an imbalance in sodium levels. Postoperative period, patients had a risk of IICP, a risk of infection entering the brain, depletion of water and nutrients and deprivation of daily routine. The nurse provided nursing care as planned. IICP did not occur, lung infections decreased. The patient's breathing tube was removed on 6 September 2023, and his
condition gradually improved. The patient was discharged on 14 September 2023, total hospital stay for 17 days.
