Nursing care in Closed fracture of the left fifth metatarsal bone : Case study

This study was case study with the objective of studying nursing care for patients with metatarsal fractures who received surgical treatment. Case female patient 55 years old with underlying diseases of Hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. She was diagnosed with Closed fracture of the left fifth Metatarsal bone and treated by Open reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) with tension band wiring (TBW) under Spinal block
Result ; 3rd ,2024. Post-operative healing went smoothly with and she received a rehabilitation session for weight bearing with walker, and stabilized the fracture site with walking boot cast. She was hospitalized for 3 days. The sutured wound was closed with waterproof bandage and has the appointment for follow up care in two weeks after discharged.
