Abstract

This study is a case study. The objective was to study the nursing care of patients undergoing surgery drainage pus from the neck under general anesthesia and complications of neurological. This patient is a 38-year-old female with a history illness of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The patient came with the chief complaint of left-side neck swelling and pain.
This study found that an important nursing cares each period namely the visit pre-anesthesia period reduces anxiety about surgery, the anesthesia period includes prevention of tissue hypoxia from difficult intubation and hypovolemic shock, increasing fluid and blood adequate in the circulation system, the anesthesia period includes increasing blood and oxygen adequate flow to the cerebral, prevention of complication cerebral ischemia. the visit post-anesthesia period includes participation in the physical rehabilitation of the patient so that can take care of her daily routine. The results of nursing care can be safe from difficult intubation and hypovolemic shock, no complication from cerebral ischemia such as brain edema, increase in cranial pressure complication, and own daily routine.
