The Effects of the Patient Triage Model Using the Emergency Severity Index on Nurse’s role and Accuracy Triage of Professional Nurse’s Emergency Accident and Legal Medicine Division Doi Lo Hospital Chiang Mai Province

This quasi-experimental research aims to study the effects of the patient triage model using the emergency severity index on nurse’s role and accuracy triage of professional nurse’s emergency accident and legal medicine division Doi Lo hospital Chiang Mai province. The samples were record information in patients receiving treatment in the emergency accident and legal department 40 people. The study between January 2024 - March 2024 The experimental instrument was a patient screening model using the emergency severity index and patient classification observation form. The experimental evaluation tool included demographic questionnaire, independent practice questionnaire of registered nurses, Observational model classifies patients using the Emergency Severity Index. and a form to record the outcome of patient emergency severity triage. Data analysis proceeded with descriptive statistics, Paired sample t-test and Chi-square.
The result indicates that after the experiment, The independent role practice of registered nurses score increased before using the triage model using the Emergency Severity Index with statistical significate at the < 0.001 level (Paired t -10.02, p < 0.001). Increase patient classification scores than before using the screening model with statistical significate at the < 0.001 level (Paired t -15.28, p < 0.001). and after the experimental, The outcome of right triage increased before using the triage model with statistical significate at the < 0.001 level (p < 0.001).
