Nursing care of acute ischemic stroke patients at the emergency room: a case study

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study nursing care for acute ischemic stroke patients at the emergency room. A Thai male patient aged 80 years came to the hospital on July 31, 2023, with symptoms of weakness in his left arm 1 hours before coming to the hospital. The patient was sent to a computerized tomography (CT brain) determination.
     Results of the study: The results showed no intracranial hemorrhage and old lacunar infarction in the Rt temporal lobe. First admission, the patient felt good, GCS 15 points (E4V5M6) pupil Ø 2 mm BE, left extremity grade 3 and NIHSS=1. The patient has a chance of complications. IICP. The patient and relatives are worried because of the illness. Patients had a risk of IICP complications. Patient and relatives are worried about their illnesses. Provide nursing care to position the head at 30 degrees, give cannular oxygen 4 LPM to control blood pressure. There is a treatment plan for blood clot-dissolving drugs (ASA 81 mg, Clopidogrel 75 mg). Disease information is given to patients and relatives. While undergoing medical care, no complications were found.
