Nursing care of pregnant women with preeclampsia with severe feature and postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section: case study

Abstract

      This study was case study aimed to study the nursing care of pregnant women with preeclampsia with severe feature and postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section. A 25-year-old pregnant woman were admitted to the hospital on October 4, 2023, with significant symptoms. She was scheduled for a cesarean section due to preeclampsia with severe feature in her second pregnancy (G3P1A1L1) at 38⁺² weeks
     The results of the study found that gestation. Preeclampsia with severe feature was diagnosed at 28 weeks gestation, and she was treated with Amlodipine (5 mg) orally once daily before meals. Her blood pressure was 169/114 mmHg. There was a risk of seizures during labor, so she received Nicardipine, Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4), and was considered for a cesarean section. Postpartum, she experienced a total blood loss of 1,000 cc during surgery. She received uterotonic agents and was closely monitored for any changes in condition to ensure the safety of both the pregnant woman and the infant. She was discharged on October 7, 2023. Follow-up appointments were scheduled for six weeks postpartum for both maternal and infant health check-ups.
