Nursing Care For The Pneumonia Patients With Septic Shock : A Comparative 2 Case Study

This study was case study aimed to study of nursing care for pneumonia patient with septic shock. A comparative 2 cases study.by purposive sampling in pneumonia patient with septic shock who received treatment at Pueai Noi hospital. The study of patient’s history and treatment data were collected from medical records, patients and their relatives. Nursing diagnosis by 11 functional health patterns of Gordon and 7 aspects of care to analyze the plan of nursing practice by nursing process.
Result: shows both patient have the same nursing diagnosis such as 1) decrease gas exchange 2) septic shock 3) discomfort from fever and chill 4) anxious with critical illness, and referred to the tertiary care center. The different of nursing diagnosis in the first patient is 1) risk of hypoglycemia 2) hypovolemic shock from blood loss in upper gastrointestinal tract 3) risk of an accidental fall, for the second patient 1) risk of seizure and have an accident 2) risk of easily bleeding 3) loss of confidence. Both patient have the different of nursing diagnosis due to the different of health condition and underlying disease but the same critical illness which is septic shock. The nursing care is focusing on correct critical illness so that the patient will be safe and referred to the tertiary care center which is higher efficiency, along with giving advice and motivation to patient and relatives.
