Case report : Interesting case of Dengue encephalopathy in King Narai Hospital.

Abstract

This study was case report aimed to Interesting case of Dengue encephalopathy in King Narai Hospital case report. An 11 years old girl was hospitalized with fever and headache. During the admission, her symptoms was worsening with the sudden onset of confusion – inability to follow commands and disorientations.

Result : Her complete blood count only shows evident of anemia. The CT scan of her brain found no evidence of abnormalities. Cerebrospinal Fluid Examination was shown sign of infection with a positive result from dengue PCR with Dengue viral culture and Dengue NS1Ag, the diagnosis of Dengue encephalopathy was confirmed. With supportive treatments including airway management, adequate intravenous fluid to prevent the risk of increase intracranial pressure, blood transfusion, electrolyte replacement therapy, monitoring of blood sugar level and regular observation of neuro signs, the patient is safely discharged.
