This experimental research aimed to compare the effectiveness of the LINE application "Easy Splint Care" with printed pamphlets in improving knowledge levels regarding post-splint care among patients in the orthopedic outpatient department of Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital. The study was guided by Edgar Dale's theory (1996) on instructional design. A sample of 52 patients was selected and divided into two groups: a control group (n=26) which received knowledge through printed pamphlets, and an experimental group (n=26) which used the
LINE application "Easy Splint Care". Data collection utilized a questionnaire assessing knowledge of post-splint care, conducted between March 18-29, 2024. Statistical analysis included percentages, means, standard deviations, paired t-tests, and independent t-tests.
Results indicated significant improvements in knowledge scores for both groups after exposure to the educational materials. Importantly, the experimental group using the LINE application showed significantly higher post-intervention knowledge scores compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Therefore, the LINE application "Easy Splint Care" demonstrates potential as an effective educational tool for patients in orthopedic outpatient settings.
