The Effect of Psychoeducation Program on the knowledge of caregivers of schizophrenia patients in the community.

The current research endeavor was a quasi-experimental research study conducted with a sample group before and after the experiment. 1) The first objective of the study was to study the effects of the psychoeducation program on the knowledge of caregivers of patients with schizophrenia in the community and study sought to compare scores from the knowledge assessment of caregivers of patients with schizophrenia in the community before and after attending the psychoeducation program. The sample consisted of 22 caregivers of outpatients with schizophrenia in Nangrong Hospital who met the criteria and qualifications, along with their families. They were paired up based on similarities in qualifications as principal caregivers of patients with schizophrenia. The sample participated in the psychoeducation program for five weeks. The research tools were 1) the psychoeducation program and 2) the schizophrenia scale for caregivers, and 3) the medication adherence scale. Data were analyzed using One-way Repeated Measure ANOVA statistics.
The research results are as follows the knowledge scores of caregivers in the experimental group for patients with schizophrenia in the community. were significantly higher than before receiving the psychoeducation program at the statistical significance level of .05.
