Development model of nursing practice guidelines for monitoring adverse symptoms in patients waiting for examination in the outpatient building, Somdej Hospital.

Abstract

     This study was action research. The objectives are to study the situation of adverse events in patients waiting for check-ups at the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital and to study the development model of nursing practice guidelines for monitoring adverse events in patients waiting for check-ups at the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital. The study period is between September 2024 and December 2024, a total of 4 months. The sample group is patients waiting for check-ups at the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital between September 2024 and November 2024, a total of 3 months, a total of 507 people, calculated using the sample size calculation formula of Krejcie and Morgan. Data were collected from questionnaires. Data were analyzed using content analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Dependent t-test.
     The results of the study found that after the operation, the patients' understanding of monitoring adverse symptoms while waiting for examination and the patients' understanding of the services provided by the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital, overall and by item, were at the highest level. The patients' understanding of monitoring adverse symptoms while waiting for examination and the patients' understanding of the services provided by the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital before and after the operation were found to be statistically significant at the 0.05 level. After the operation, the patients' understanding of monitoring adverse symptoms while waiting for examination and the patients' understanding of the services provided by the outpatient building of Somdej Hospital were better than before the operation, and no incidence of adverse symptoms was found.
