Cost analysis and assessment of herbal medicine production readiness of Kamalasai Hospital to support government service facilities in Health Region 7, 2023 – 2024.

Abstract

     This research was survey research. The objectives are to study the cost analysis and assessment of the readiness of herbal medicine production of Kamalasai Hospital to support government service facilities in Health Region 7, 2023 - 2024, by studying between September 2022 - October 2024, a total of 24 months, studying in the population unit, Kamalasai Hospital. Data were collected from the herbal medicine production record form of Kamalasai Hospital, Kalasin Province and the exchange of knowledge. Data were analyzed by content analysis, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
     The study results found that the herbal medicine factory of Kamalasai Hospital can produce a total of 47 types of herbal medicine. The most produced herbs are: Turmeric capsules 500 milligrams, 10 capsules/sheet, production capacity 130,000 capsules, every 10 baht per capsule, total value 1,300,000 baht; and Andrographis paniculata capsules 400 milligrams, production capacity 130,000 capsules, every 10 baht per capsule, total value 1,300,000 baht, total cost 1,792,612.39 baht, income received to the hospital 707,387.61 baht, cost difference equal to 1,085,224.78 baht. The results of the evaluation of the standard criteria for good practices in herbal medicine production according to the WHO-GMP criteria, detailing the topics in each category, found that the herbal medicine production of Kamalasai Hospital passed the evaluation at 65.29 percent.
