Development of long-term care model for the elderly with dependency Namon Hospital, Kalasin Province.

Abstract

     This participatory action research (PAR) aimed to study problems and development model for long-term care model for elderly in dependent group at Namon Hospital, Kalasin Province. Study was conducted between October 2023 and October 2024. Qualitative sample consisted of 69 health network personnel and 60 quantitative samples of homebound and bedridden elderly. Research tools used in the study included semi-structured questions for model development, general information interview forms, daily living screening assessment forms (ADL), depression assessment forms (TGDS), quality of life assessment forms, and satisfaction assessment forms. Qualitative data were analyzed using triangular content analysis. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentages, medians, and paired-t test before and after comparisons.
     Results of the study Development process12 The important models are as follows: 1) Screening the elderly comprehensively 2) Creating a care plan for every case 3) Holistic visits by a multidisciplinary team 4) Creating community participation 5) Organizing a continuous service system that coordinates at all levels 6) Having comprehensive policies and project activities 7) Integrating support from other agencies 8) Promoting exercise in the elderly 9) Promoting knowledge in the elderly and caregivers 10) Promoting careers and income for the elderly 11) Supporting environmental management in the elderly's home 12) Supporting mental health care The results of the models resulted in better physical (ADL) and mental (TGDS) health in the elderly, better quality of life, and better satisfaction, with statistical significance at the .05 level (t = 6.18, 8.13, 6.26, 5.18).
