Nursing care for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease : 2 case.

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study and compare the disease progression, treatment, and nursing care of 2 patients with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who received treatment at Changhan Hospital. This case study compared 2 patients with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease .The study was conducted on the first patient who received services at Changhan Hospital on March 18,2024 , and the second patient on May 8, 2024. Data were collected using interviews, observations, and medical records. The concept of patient health assessment according to Gordon's 11 health models.And determine nursing diagnosis together with nursing process concepts to apply in nursing care.
     Main findings: Case 1 : 86 years old Thai man with COPD 10 years ago received a bronchodilator 1 hour before coming to the hospital. He had a fever,shortness of breath,coughing with sputum,At first,the doctor diagnosed COPD with AE. receiced a bronchodilator. received oxygen and intravenous fluids to maintain water and electrolyte balance. received antibiotics.and was treated according to 6 nursing plans.The symptoms improved.and the patient was discharged home.Case 2 : 49 years old Thai man with COPD 2 years ago. 3 hours before coming to the hospital, had symptoms of coughing,shortness of breath,and was tired,could not lie down, took the inhaler at home 5 times.the symptoms did not improve.At first,the doctor diagnosed COPD with AE,provided nursing care according to 5 treatment plans.the symptoms improved and the patient was discharged home. patients received treatment according to the GOLD guideline 2017 for COPD Management.
